The invention of paper began in China in the 2nd Century A.C. It is since then that we have gained admirable respect for papermakers. Sending a letter on paper is still the most appreciated and sincere form of communicating. Modern technology has allowed us to experience and learn so much, but let us not forget tradition.
From Korea, Japan, Arabia and Europe, paper has progressed in amazing ways. There's something special about what man can do and a machine cannot. The most valuable trait of handmade paper is the uneven or rough-edged border. In a sense our handmade paper is a reflection of people's individuality .. each sheet is uniquely different and only the papermaker can shape the personality of that sheet. |
